Adbusters presents a rather deceptive bias at times that meets the 1% objective. See Robin Hood Tax and compare it to unbiased information on Wikipedia. Then tell me OWS do things based on whether or not they agree with Adbusters, because generally they do not research Adbusters with the same enthusiasm they research oil companies or banks.

Many of us didn't need Adbusters to say any of this. Those of us who stayed awake in class have seen what has been going on in this country and we have been blogging against it for years. MANY of us wanted a nationwide movement LONG before this. It's a sad statement of our nation's apathy that it took THIS long for people to stand up and start speaking out.

Never said Adbusters was controlling the movement. It was merely the spark which started the fire and it was, ironically, paid for by the same type of capitalist billionaire the movement is protesting.

Adbusters co-founder said, "We were inspired by what happened in Tunisa and Egpt and we had this feeling that America was ripe for a Tahrir moment. We felt there was a real rage building in America and we thought that we would like to create a spark which would give expression for this rage."

I'm saying even if an individual or group wanted to, due to the fundamental nature of the organization, they can't control the protesters or easily shape their opinion from within the organization. The general influence from AdBusters is included in this limitation. People are not supporting this because they like AdBusters but because the core message of the protest as described by those protesting strikes a cord with them. Many are calling for nonpartisan goals with an inclusive message. That is not to say either party would not try to use the movement for their own gain. This would include fear mongering from the right as well as absorption by the left.

So what you are saying is that many of the protesters may not realized that they are being used by the same type of billionaire that they are protesting against.

Even if George Soros funded Adbusters directly and either were 100% purposeful in this kind of action he nor Adbuster have control over the protests. A number of protesters may not even realize what Adbusters is or how it was used in starting the organizing of OWS. The mechanism of the GA alone prevents the kind of control an astroturf campaign might need from used organizations. This would include issues of partisanship.

Reuters is reporting what they call "indirect financial links" between George Soros and Adbusters. Adbusters is a group in Canada which has been using a marketing campaign aimed at starting an Arab Spring style uprising against Wall Street and greedy capitalist corporations.
