You are obviously completely ignorant of the movement, what it stands for, and what we are trying to accomplish.

Rhonda, you claim you know your history, but you most certainly don't, either that or you chose to deny the truth. This isn't about socialism, this is about holding accountable, those that have manipulated the system at the expense of others, in order to satisfy their ever growing greed. If you consider yourself part of this group, you have your priorities in the wrong place.

Capitalism has its place in a free society, but so does social justice. The two are not diametrically opposed as the conservative movement seems to spread, as part of their propaganda machine that is known for its constant display of hatred, bigotry, fear, and misinformation.

This movement demands that those responsible for the economic downfall of this country, the people you are trying to defend, be held accountable for their actions. Innumerable amounts of people were destroyed by the actions of the few that have accumulated the majority of the wealth in this country, not through hard honest work, that you so ignorantly claim, but through manipulation, corruption, and flat out criminality. Stop protecting the criminals and start being a human being and fight for the people. Stop spreading your ignorance and hate for the people that have built this country and start educating yourself on the truth.

Take a look throughout the history of this country. Do you know when this country stood as the most socieo-economically dominant country? It is when the people were taxed fairly, meaning they pay their fair share of taxes. The rich paying more taxes is what is fair and how a true capitalistic democracy rises and stays on top. There is no discounting the truth, no matter how hard you, and people like you, try.

This country is on its way down and it is gaining speed. The only way this country will be able to overcome this situation is to rid it of the mindset that you are so hatefully spreading. You think Obama is the problem, when the problem is so much closer to home, it's you and people like you.

A socially progressive country, as America was created to be, should not sit back and allow a corporatocracy to overtake its democratic soul. This country's entire financial system is based on faith, not on actual monies. The country puts its faith in the government, while the conservatives keep passing bills that literally decimate our economy, and our leaders keep bailing out the failed systems, while the true patriots fight for what is right. Instead of doing what is right, you call us names, spread your ignorance and hate, and try your hardest to create a divide between the people. That is fine, you keep spreading your hate and your lies, and we will fight for you. We will fight for every American, it's what we do.

We are arguing for freedom as well:

1. Freedom of fair rewards for effort. We have seen the rich sit back and get more and more money while minimum wage workers are having to work two to three jobs to make ends meet.

2. Freedom to work. We have applied for countless jobs only to be told "you are overqualified" or told not to leave our resumes because there are no jobs.

3. Freedom from deceptive practices. We are tired of having fees hidden from us, tired of having been haggled into variable rate plans and interest rates that skyrocket shortly after signing up, despite promises to the contrary.

We are not all looking to overthrow capitalism, many of us believe that capitalism in America is already dead when the average person can no longer start a local grocery store in their neighborhood due to the unfair aggressive competition of those with huge corporate pockets.

We are looking only to fight the warfare that has been heaped upon the middle and lower classes.

And yes, we have a single goal for occupation: reverse the accelerating economic inequality.

No one said this would be easy, and we are here for the long haul, as hard as it gets.

I would love for you all to enlighten me on exactly what your utopia will look like if you got your way. I want specifics; how people are going to live; where will the food come from: describe how we provide for the common good? What will be the driving force to get people to get up every morning and tackle the days issues? I mean we all can't sit on our butts in total receiving mode hoping things get done, it ain't magic, someone has to work. How do we divide the labor and who makes those decisions? You want to wreck the system and leave just exactly what in its place? Hundreds of millions of people are dependent on the current system to survive? No institutions no institutional jobs. Unless you can have your system up and running in 72 hours it would be a man-made Katrina but on a global scale. Most folks only have about 3-5 days supply of food in their homes. Since everything would be decentrilized how would a surplus of goods get to an area of need. Heck why bother, just grow or make enough for that local voluntary association.

What you're advocating is anarchy, and what you propose will result in suffering on a scale not seen since the plagues that swept across Europe centuries ago. Well as long as my garbage disposal eats better than half the worlds population due to the blessings of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness afforded me here in America under the current system, no matter how flawed, you can bet your ass I will vigorously oppose you. Circumstance places people in precarious positions where indignities are suffered daily, even here in America. So I am cognizant of that fact and my heart goes out to those are suffering. My point is that I agree we should share our bounty with those less fortunate, to help those in need and who are willing to help themselves, but never apologize for my successes. I earned them through hard work and sacrifice.

no… i'm a pure capitalist american.. i want no parts of socialism…or any other made up forms of nonsense

i have read and understand my history

of course i won't be there.. i could never associate with an organization like occupy this or that

the whining is just too much.. we were not brought up to blame our problems on other people..

our teachers told us when we were wrong.. thus we thought..

as for socialism.. please just socialize yourself.. leave the rest of us out of it..

no one cares who is in the park.. and that is certainly not the issue..

you just need to know we are out here… and being in the so called "rich" i resent being labeled as criminals..

we have worked hard and fought for our future…and we will not give it back.

2012 we will vote out Obama… and take this country back on the right track..

however… no one really has a longterm fix for the country to fix what we need to fix.. like jobs, technology, education beyond the little socialist regimes teaching now… we are sick of things too.. but we are working to cover our percentage of the taxation that is reasonable…

and NO..... taxes should NOT be increased on the rich.. there is not a political figure in the picture anywhere who is responsible enough ito actually apply it in the correct and efficient ways.. so until that time.. NO...no they can't have anymore money for their reelection bid.. left or right period. Enough is Enough..

Instead of just doing it for a brief period, we're doing it constantly. The 'it' that we're doing is democracy.

Yes, some of the people there are probably socialists. Many people are not. As a result, the result is not socialism.

We understand that there are some things that capitalism does right, like designing iPhones. There are things capitalism doesn't do right, like designing the sub-prime mortgage derivatives that crashed the economy in 2008. I personally feel we should apply capitalism to things capitalism does well, and other systems where appropriate.
