Well, firstly, happy holidays to the lot of you. It occurred to me while eating the rest of my pecan pie this morning, hence the pun, and tirelessly defending the Occupy movement in the Yahoo comments section for the last month... that maybe I should go seek out resources for the Occupy movement closest to home.

I'd like to try and explain how drastically important this is in Texas, and just how big it could be.

As Texans we are mostly raised Conservative, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it would seem that people here confuse being Conservative with perpetuating orthodoxy or repeating dogma. Our values are principles, not antiquated laws or fairy tales, and yes being a southern state some of our culture is going to differ from states located further from our geographic dynamic. This is not to say that some things aren't universal, that these things have been written about in the very documents founding the bedrock of this country.

It is, quite simply, the time for the Preamble... the Bill of Rights... and the Constitution to be elaborated upon. Time for these pertinent, ESSENTIAL, tenants of representative democracy to be spun into an inspiring tale once again. We have forgotten our history, muddled in too much propaganda and watered down with amendments that threaten the very pillars of democracy worldwide.

The Patriot Act, Citizen's United, Super Committees, Budgets, and trickle down economics are the great monarchs we must proclaim our independence from once again.

If we can succeed in this most proudly Conservative state, the home of idiotic ridicule worldwide thanks to our elected representatives for decades, the entire Occupy movement can succeed anywhere.

So get out there, dispel the mudslinging this holiday season while you visit your relatives. Politics should have no place at the dinner table at Christmas my great-grandma always said... but just set the record straight. The disdain for the RNC and DNC is at an all time high, there is an upswelling... all people want to hear the same thing.

What's REALLY going on? How do we fix it? Where did the problem come from?

Anyway, approaching TL;DR status and my pie is gone.

Happy Holidays once again,

a Liberal Texan Conservative
