Instead of contributing to the pockets of the 1% on "Black Friday," why not support for OccupyHouston? The Blanket the Earth project is coming to Houston!

A cold front is due to come into the area this weekend (and it will be cold from here on out), and the Occupiers need to stay warm and dry. If you have any serviceable (and clean) blankets, jackets, socks, etc., please consider donating them.

I will be on the west corner of Tranquility Park from 9-10am collecting cold-weather gear (blankets, jackets) or whatever else is needed. If you want to drive by and drop off, I'll be happy to receive your donations (no $$$, just items) to take over to the encampment.

Thank you, and have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Jeez, John.

Talk about sucking all the fun out of the room.Frown

Talk to Katie, I'm harmless.  Simply "occupying" your website, with no apparent goal — concept ring a bell?

If all of my old posts had not been deleted – I fell so fresh and so clean after each new 'scrubbing' – you could go back and do some 'research' on my counter-movement.  Counter to your idea of what a troll constitutes, I have clearly identified my goals – I don't have any – I can clearly articulate my ideas – through the use of biting comedy and irony – and I have been consistent in opposing everything about Occupy "Wherever" – my humble apologies to your soft sensibilities if you take the generic term 'filthy hippie' to heart.

So as the Moderator, or 'Chief Censurer' you go ahead and make the determination if ANYTHING in this post goes counter to the Registration Policies, and then apply the same set of Standards to a number of posters here.  I can assure you, my irony-driven ramblings are nowhere near as full of bile as some of the drivel that passes through the 'filter'.

Racist post moved to trash bin, where it can still be seen. It's fine that it's ironically anti-white, but it appears sincerely anti-African-American.

Not really :-) If the Occupiers were trying to occupy JPMorgan Chase's boardroom instead of a public park, I think it would be more similar to what you're doing.

Au contraire… This forum started out as a public place, similar to Tranquility Park, where the free flow of ideas germinated like bean-sprouts at the General Assemblies.  But now those ideas are wilting, under the oppressive crush of overbearing Moderators who impose their will on a whim.

So, within the current scenario, it looks as if the esteemed "John" is the equivalent to a Wall Street CEO!!!!!!

HOW FREAKING IRONIC IS THAT??????Cool

Au contraire, yourself :-) You act like Occupy Houston didn't create this forum. As if it were a forum created by the city, for the free flow of ideas. This forum was created by and for (at least) supporters of Occupy Houston and people interested in learning about Occupy Houston. I personally am fine with people coming here who disagree with Occupy, if for some reason they want to come here and debate or discuss the issues (including the validity of Occupy) in an open, civil, and respectful manner. As far as I'm concerned, your most recent post above is fine, but I'm speaking just as a member now, not a mod.
