complete disater in my opinion last night.definately need to work some things out.while you are so pressed for time on the subjects being digussed; you are not giving sufficient time for topics to be discussed.furthermore you are not giving room for everyone to put their two cents in. there was talk last night of houston standing with wall street ,but focusing on houston based issues.wake up this is about glabal issues;and if we are going to get anywhere we need to stay in line with the other protesters in our country, focussing on lager goals than the goals that encompass our city.you managed to run all of the protesters away last night with your unorganization,or shoul i say over organization. how was the statement passed that had to do with us, as  in relation with the arab spring passed at 12:30 in the afternoon with none of the protesters being present(majority of the protesters). you guys are killing this movement in our city. topics should not be rushed through, and given such menial time limits, then forced to table for later dicussion they need to be worked out omong the group while the group is gathered, not after you run everyone off as a result of complete disorder

I do agree with some of your comments.  However, I do think if the rules of order set in place are followed by everyone, then we can have constructive and decisive meetings.  But that's the problem (in my opinion) not everyone is following these rules.  There has to by some organization and a system in place if everyone is going to be heard. I had a limited amount of time last night I was able to attend and even though I was there for an hour and a half, we barely made it through volunteer group announcements.  That is a problem I feel.  So I think the system needs so tweaking for sure, but I cannot agree that it should be abandoned completely.

i agree with you and i think many of these kids have their own agenda which supersedes that of occupy.  which is why the "real" working class has not joined in. this article highlights the downfall of the tea party and seems to be what will/is happening to occupyhouston.

i'm with the movement but the houston group needs help from some adults.

It might be wise to try to hash out a number of points in smaller working groups before the actual meeting to then be presented as a proposal. Much of this could be done online to wider feedback and the issue of people not being able to talk all at the same time. There could also be some guide lines formed on what the purpose of the group is and what is suppose to be discussed during a particular GA. I don't know why anyone thought it was a good idea to try to bring up local issues or kind of issues they did.

OWS has this problem to a degree but with national issues in that a lot of people are simply voicing their opinions  and proposed solutions. These needs to happen but people need also find common themes and common solutions with broad appeal then focus them. The theme is already presented by OWS with specific grievances and boiled down in the dedication at the top of the page. There are also ideas of having demands outside this in the way of economics and accountability for the failures that occurred. Pursuing this could limit appeal away from those who dislike regulation of business when common ground could otherwise be achieved. The same kind of idea applies to any other idea people try to bring to this, or I argue should.

if you care, come out, simple. the GAs have been painstakingly experimented with, revised, reworked, updated, and the main thing is : it's a Process that requires participation. You try to organize a public forum system that can hold up to different people running it each night, and different types of newcomers showing up each night, and the times you all are talking about are when we were about 2 weeks into public GAs. Get practical, get some perspective on how much has been done. How much has been accomplished by those spending 100 hours each week and it is making a difference.

again, want to contribute? You're more than welcome to come out and actually aid the process of creating real democratic forum where anyone from the public can come and speak on the topics being addressed or get on stack to speak their opinion on anything they want.

Kids? right. might as well be telling us to get jobs while you're at it. Many of the core organizers have more than one job or are students in addition to working. We need more volunteers to back their great suggestions.
