OccupyHouston is a leaderless group. However, issues of People of Color has been and are being marginalized by the concerns of other participants.  People of Color have been asked to go back to our respective communities and request from those communities more participation from  Asian, African American, Latino, Native American and Hispanic people.

We can not, however, do this as long as we feel that we are being marginalized by others.  That would be disingenuous and disrespectful to the legacies all of our communities.  The People of Color Caucus will encourage open dialogue and sincere debate to express our concerns democratically.  We reserve the right as did other Groups to meet privately if we are concerned about any further marginalization.  As People of Color, we refuse to be relegated or confined to the lower or outer limits of OccupyHouston.

To the moderators and administrators of this OccupyHouston Forum please assign People of Color Caucus to an appropriate venue similar to way that the Women's Group has been presented on the OccupyHouston Forum.

Thank you and keep up the good work,

Don't let the Blue People (or "Bluey" as Shitsata collectively refers to them) participate, they suck.

But the blue people are the ones that are kindest to everyone :(

I would like a subforum supporting diversity….oh….well….guess we already have that, but there is not much interest there.  :(

I don't really know, Bob, maybe they are the HPD? At first I thought they might be from the film Avatar…gentle loving creatures. Regardless, HPD seemed to save the day today….hope someone at Tranquility is expressing gratitude.

Hmmmm…. I am told I am fairly colorful.

Based on what I read, I am not really certain the one that hates white people likes anyone.  Confused

bobdelfino, I have never referred to anyone as tonyiomma announced.

when tonyiomma states, "Shitsata ", this is an exhibition of the Anal-fecal phase of development.

ANAL  phase.  This stage is of the greatest significance to our study. Certain nuclear ideas, such as those revolving about the concepts of dirt and property, take hold of the personality during this stage of development, and remain throughout life associatively linked to the idea of excrement. Thus, to the child, dirt corresponds to that which is hated in his excremental activities. This becomes symbolically generalized to include anything which can be associated with what comes out of the body, and which hence should not return back into the body. On the other hand, property is considered to be the loved part of his excrement, the part he wishes to take back into himself or to give to those he loves, Excrement becomes the unconscious link in later life between these notions;  hence filthy lucre.

The anal phase is so important in discussing racism because anality is the form of drive behavior which predominates during that time when a child is painfully detaching himself from his mother and establishing himself as a separate person. In this light, excrement —what is expelled from the body—becomes symbolically associated with the ambivalent feelings a child has about his separation from his mother and the establishment of himself as an autonomous person.  Dirt becomes, then, the recipient of his anger at separation; while the love of what has been separated from him. Since racism involves the ‘separate’ ness of people, so must it become invested with anal fantasies.

If he is a white American, it is likely that he will then find an outlet for some of his infantile fantasies about dirt, property, power and sexuality, in his culture’s racism.  "—–white racism: a psychohistory by joel kovel.

promentalshitbackwashpsychosisenemasquad…….betta known as the doodoo chasers. Can't think of nothing but excrement.

Also, bobdelfino, the Katie 'character' is very interesting as well.  When it states:

"I would like a subforum supporting diversity….oh….well….guess we already have that, but there is not much interest there.",

the controlling, Katie 'character',  is defending the notion of "Left colorblindess is the enemy"

- Left colorblindness is the belief that race is a “divisive” issue among the 99%, so we should instead focus on problems that “everyone” shares. According to this argument, the movement is for everyone, and people of color should join it rather than attack it.

Albeit, none of the characters are bold enough to confront the issues that I bring forth publicly at the 'leaderless' General Assembly.

….Or any seperate but equal General Assembly that they would determine.  I would debate any of these 'messengers' anytime but I would prefer their puppetmasters instead of puppets.

All of the negative respondants are afraid of the public process so they will continue to hide here from logic and reasoning.

bobdelfino, the silly part of all of this is that they assume that I would consider them to be smart and powerful like the White Supremacist Racist even though they are not the smartest and most powerful. The are merely pawns in the Race Game like  most guilt ridden and internally oppressed people who classify themselves as White People.

White Supremacist Racist {White Power Elite 1%}would not waste time here or around people of color so they send their 'prison guards' {White People who are powerless to produce Justice} to look over the inmates {Non-White People}.

Ask those prison guards just how often do they socialize with the White Power Elite or how often does the Queen of England accept their 'blood' transfusions/offerings?  What nerve they have to suggest to Non-White People that they are fighting the Powers that Be when they are only seeking to rearrange the 'bandwagon' of 'withe' privilege?

The Good White People are RaceTraitor has it right when they proclaimed that "Treason to Whiteness is Loyalty to Humanity"………..but they call me a hater cause I'm a lover and not a fighter of their ways and means.  None of these characters can look me in my eyes and front like they are fronting here.  I am waiting……..for The Leaderless Movement that is willing and able to OWS, OccupyWhiteSupremacy.

Pathetic. We should feel sorry for Seshata and how he tries to disempower his race through his anger and obsessession. However, I still rather not associate myself with him because his approach is self defeating and harassment oriented. I speak up to defend individuals of all races when they are not behaving like asses. As you see, Seshata has not labeled or stereotyped me as part of "The Good White People" and everything he says is right….do I have an "Amen?" He has also labeled me as controlling based on what little he knows about me…obviously a projection. Sad.

To be constructive, he would be better off tapping into people that are successful in his race and asking them how they did it, since he alienates others through his behavior. Then spreading the word, if his focus is helping whom he identifies as his own, not helping people that need help.

Last  night I was talking with a successful and pleasant black man for about thirty minutes regarding his own experience living in the South. He was mature enough to have been hired by a company that hires only 'creme of the crop.' He stated his experiences with a tone that was 'matter-of-fact,' not with hate. And he has risen above it all, despite seeing the segregated bathroom, places to eat, etc., during his childhood. This is the kind of guy that has an attitude to work with others that have a good attitude, but knows when to move on to protect himself….avoid a job that has too long of commute, or the co-workers focused on drinking too much, etc. And it was my impression he would not mind being a mentor to anyone, no matter their race, as long as they have decent character and attitude, as he has practiced kindness toward me.

Regarding housing, I have met alot of people that have lived in houses they could not afford, of all colors….including whites. I have also met alot of successful people of 'color' living in very nice houses they could afford. I know that people, both black and white, sold bad loans they knew would not be repayable. I think we need to be looking at how this happened regarding the banks and government, regarding the foreclosures, and get down to the root of the corruption. However, if government policy and corruption, and banking system corruption is not an issue with any of you, then we will not be making progress. We will only have race wars. Is that what you want? Because that is where this supremacy thing seems to be leading, instead of focusing on the individual roots of corruption.

Every race and religion has its share of 'the good, the bad & the ugly.'

Right now I do not consider people going around pointing blame at specific races as being role models….they are living in the past. And what we know about people living in the past, despite the living proof that discounts how they choose to live, they are ugly and emotionally immature. It is no different than a neo-confederate riding around with a big flag on his car, announcing to the world that his great great great grand daddy fought in the war. Tell that neo-confederate to move on, to become part of our country and our overall effort to act in the interest of our country. To avoid spreading hate, to spread a positive attitude with cooperation…that is the only way we will succeed as a group, with all colors, including whites.

So, I am asking all of you to think about what sort of behavior you want to convey to our children in this nation. Anger? Hate? Violence? or a willing attitude to work together and fight corruption in our government and business, no matter the race or religion of the individual involved? If you can't rise above petty arguments and living in the past, then you will not be able to partake in reestablishing this country as a great nation.

Du Bois used the term "the talented tenth" to describe the likelihood of one in ten black men becoming leaders of their race in the world, through methods such as continuing their education, writing books, or becoming directly involved in social change. He strongly believed that blacks needed a classical education to be able to reach their potential, rather than the industrial education promoted by the Atlanta compromise which was endorsed by Booker T. Washington and some white philanthropist. He saw such an education as the basis for what, in the 20th century, would be known as public intellectuals.

In his later life, W.E.B. Du Bois came to believe that leadership could arise from many levels, and grassroots efforts were also important to social change. His stepson David Du Bois tried to publicize those views, writing in 1972: "Dr. Du Bois’ conviction that it’s those who suffered most and have the least to lose that we should look to for our steadfast, dependable and uncompromising leadership."

Du Bois writes in his Talented Tenth essay that black Americans must develop “the Best of this race that they may guide the Mass away from the contamination and death of the Worst.” Later in Dusk of Dawn, Du Bois re-articulates this notion. He writes that “my own panacea of earlier day was flight of class from mass through the development of the Talented Tenth; but the power of this aristocracy of talent was to lie in its knowledge and character, not in its wealth.”

Katie, Dr. Martin Luther King was one of those "Talented" ones……..who should never bite the hand of the one who is feeding that 'talent'.  Control does have limitations.

See you at GA.

P.S. , Katie, what did I say to you specifically that offended you or are you just offended about the discussion of White Supremacy Racism?   Others may wonder so please explain yourself.

And you are already fully aware we still can not see your face well enough to identify you, so you are basically disguising yourself as an Olmec avatar….with apparently as primitive of ideas.

Perhaps we can simply call you Olmec.

Let me tell you all something.

This racism crap is getting old. All this talk and defending and BS. Black people, asian people, hispanic people, etc..

All this does is draw attention away from the real issues at hand. Letting blacks or women have their own sub group is bullshit.

We are supposed to be one entity, solidarity. No separation, no lines, no separate groups.

ONE FOR ALL and ALL FOR ONE

I agree with CF. And if you can not work with everyone, then kindly remove yourself for the greater good.

You are free to hand out flyers at Occupy. If people of race, religion or a specific gender want their own group, they have enough people to do it independent of Occupy and they already know it.

Amen

I dont believe he considers himself a proud American. Seshata spends all his time hateing everything. Fills everyone owes the Black folks something. look bro, If the President who BTY is almost black has turned his back on his own people. You should be talking to him about what you truely believe to be injustices in this country. I can tell you one think. My kids can work there butt off and get better grades than yours. Thanks to Affermative action and goverment grants. My kid wont get jack. Only because she is white.  Its people like you that preaches hate to young black children, Teaching them that they are held down in some way. Not me sir. My kids will kick in every door in there way in life, I love this country and my kids will earn lots of money and  make sure there kids do better than them. Its people like you, Jesse Jackson, Malcom X, and every money grabing, hate preaching person out there that feeds off of your own.

God this crap is stupid

It is sad to consider the countless numbers of people Seshata has driven away from this movement because of his racist behavior, and he treats it all like it is a joke. As far as I can tell, he has been very disrespectful to everyone he encounters and he gets away with it; maybe he is accustomed to playing 'the race card.' As far as 'trolls' go, I think he has been the worst of them all. I would like to see him leave.

Oooo you're tough girl! You reported him! lol Please stop talking you debate like a 13 year old girl. I agree that seshata's post are a little discrimative to white people but there are more mature and effective ways of addressing this. And Im sure if this post wasnt attacked from the moment it was posted we could have all had a more open discussion on how white people are as well discriminated against. I dont think he posted this to say 'fuck whitey' but to address that there are incidences that needs to be address. I just dont agree that it should be address in a sub group for the race issues AND the womens issues. If there is a problem with race at the occupations then there should be meetings for this were whites, blacks, spanish, arabic, etc can express openly with each other how they feel and give there opinions on what we can do to create a greater bond so we can work at these problems TOGETHER not seperatley. Going off into our own little groups and voluntairely segregating ourselves is not going to bring us together. The more open we are with each other about being against racism the more the racist individuals you speak of will feel isolated.

Gabrielle, I put up the women's forum on kind of a whim, after which seshata asked for the people of color forum. The women's forum hasn't gotten any use, so maybe it'll be taken down if things get streamlined. Don't know, though.
