I was wondering. Any items donated to OH (Occupy Houston). Who controls it? I heard that there was a big flat screen TV donated. My question is…Who is in charge of it and rest of the donated items? Is it there for everyone’s use? Can I use it? I guess my real question is…Who is in charge there and how did he or she get that position..If the movement is leaderless then that means I can just walk in and use the donated items? Just asking

MrBill,

Do you have it checked out already?  I wanted to use it for Thanksgiving day.  My inlaws got in a fight with my sister-inlaw so they won't be coming over for dinner but it is a possibility.  I know Jim and Eleanor are *expecting* to watch some football no matter where they wind up for the Holiday.  I want to be prepared to show some football but my other tv is too big and heavy to carry down the stairs.  The kids like to watch pokemon upstairs for some reason so that is why I need to check out the TV for Thanksgiving.  Get back with me when you are done using it.  Also,  who handles the checkout form or sheet for the tv?

One more thing does anyone have  the refrigerator scheduled for check out on Thanksgiving too?  I can pick up both items the night before.  We are expecting alot of people and the extra fridge would really come in handy.  And YES I know to transport it standing up!

Thanks!

It's kind of everyone and no one :-) Whoever's there keeps an eye on stuff. There's always someone there.

I guess my real question is…Who is in charge there and how did he or she get that position..

There's no official person in charge.

If the movement is leaderless then that means I can just walk in and use the donated items?

If you mean the TV, I really don't know. I've never used the TV there.

The TV was donated to the occupation. Used for Media workgroup purposes.

The fridge was donated to the occupation. The Kitchen workgroup looks after it.

Make sense?

007,

Habitat for Humanity will sell you fridges and anything else they got they don't need that has been donated. Then they turn around and use that money for buying things like land. You might want to consider investing your time with them; you probably have alot more to offer there than here.
