Don't just talk — Act!

 

If you are tired of being mistreated by your "too big to fail" bailout-taking national bank, take your account to a smaller local or regional bank that will appreciate your business.  One bank in Florida is actually paying new customers $5 a month to bank with them, in a reverse take on Bank of America's $5 debit card fee. Small or medium size Houston banks include:

   -  Frost Bank

   -  North Houston Bank

   -  Independence Bank, N.A.

   -  Community National Bank

   -  IBC Bank

   -  Prosperity Bank

   -  Vista Bank Texas

   -  Whitney Bank

   -  Central Bank Houston

   -  Enterprise Bank Houston

   -  Golden Bank, N.A.

    

 

Or, you can do what my husband and I did . . . move your business to a local credit union, where service is friendly and very local.  At a credit union, you buy "shares" and become a member.  They're not after the huge profits that most banks seek, so they're able to offer competitively lower rates on credit cards, auto, and home loans.  A list of local Houston credit unions is here:  http://creditunionaccess.com/T…..unions.htm .

 

And, while you're at it, dump your debit card.  Debit cards do not have the protections that credit cards have and are more vulnerable to fraud.  Use cash or, as I prefer, a credit card that you pay off every month.  Plus a credit card gives you a record of all your expenditures so you know where your money goes.

This is EXACTLY the "demand"  that the 99Percenters should ask of themselves!  One lesson we all learned from Deepthroat and the Nixon Watergate Scandal…"follow the money".  It always leads back to the crooks and the corruption.

If OWS were to single out and protest the 2BIG2FAIL bailed-out banks with signs directing 99Percenters to "MOVE YOUR MONEY", that would get their attention (and their stock holders) much faster.  Target Wall Street banks like BofA, JP Morgan/Chase, Wells Fargo, etc. with facts they can't deny (like their failure to take TARP money and relieve their residential sub-prime mortgage deficits), their risky/failed investments using FDIC insured customer's bank funds, and defrauding investors with the likes of Enron, Worldcom, etc. 

Encourage everyone to MOVE YOUR MONEY to save America now-show Wall Street that 2BIG2FAIL banks can be taken down by ZERO-CUSTOMERS-ZERO-PROFITS.  This should include credit cards, debit cards besides banking and savings accounts.

Start with BANKING/FINANCE Industry to remove lobbyists, special interest money from buying off Congress and passing legislation that is ONLY beneficial to them.  Too many of us are trying to "eliminate a 2 party political system" by making a 3rd party.  I say we already have a 3 party system.  The Republican party, the Democrat party, and the Lobbyist party.  If we eliminate the Lobbyist party, then the other two and ALL the elected officials between them, become accountable to WE THE PEOPLE-THE VOTERS.

Between Industries paying Lobbyists to buy Congressional votes, and the Supreme Court ruling that corporations are "people too", your vote doesn't matter anymore.  Corporations/Big Business now have all the ends of the democratic election process sewn up.  Your intelligent vote doesn't matter anymore.  It only takes money (propaganda ads, videos, articles, books, etc.) to wrongly influence the lazy, uneducated, dumbed down voters to think they are standing up for their OWN rights, while voting away the very same – and cancelling yours.

 

Eliminate this 3rd Party, the Lobbyists, and half the battle is won.  Start with the most POWERFUL lobbyist group to control Congress and the White House….Banking/Finance. Then take on BIG OIL, BIG INSURANCE, BIG MILITARY.  That is how we "take this country back".
