Hey guys!  Here is some good information I found from Occupy Dallas on what to bring for overnight stay.  I have no idea if we will be arrested for sleeping in the park, but my feeling is that the more people we have the less likely it will be.

PERSONAL  SUPPLIES TO BRING :
Clothing for warm and cool weather. Wear layers, so you can remove items as needed.
Practical, comfortable shoes. Avoid sandals, anything open toed, high heels, etc. stick to athletic shoes or work type rubber soled shoes and boots with laces/zippers. Bring several pairs of socks.
            Comfortable sturdy back pack
2 liters(min) of water in a non-glass sealable refillable container
Assorted portable foods. Snack/granola bars, protein bars, nuts (unsalted), dried fruits, fresh fruits (apples, oranges), MRI's. Avoid junk foods, chips, candies, colas, pop tarts etc… You'll need protein and nutrients.
Your own utensils if u feel you might need them.
            small, legal pocket knife,
A basic first aid kit, alcohol wipes, neosporin, bandages, ANTI-DIARREHAL, allergy meds, vaseline and SUNSCREEN
Wear your glasses if possible, contacts and solutions will create a headache and pepper spray is hell on conatacts
swimmers goggles (airtight) and nose depresser (in case of gas/spray)
small bottle of dawn dishsoap (helps with removing the gas/spray)
Hand soap, washcloth, small towel, bandana,
personal hygeine (toothpast, brush, deodorant etc..) personal preferrence but noone likes the stinky kid
            TOILET PAPER (2 rolls)
handheld LED flashlight (crank type is best or have extra batteries)
May sound silly but bring a pen and notepad.
A watch is a good idea.
If you want bedding, make it practical, and learn to store it in a roll that you can tie to your pack.
Practical means its big enough for you, no king sized, queen sized or even full sized comforters.
Your pack will suffice as a pillow.
If you are bringing personal electronics, bring extra batteries, memory cards, etc. Tether them to yourself, or your pack, Mark them as yours, and remember THEY ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Don't whine when/if they get damaged, stolen, misplaced, etc.
        Bacpacks and fanny packs
Hope this info helps!

Cassie – would you please contact me. This is Shannon. We had a few notes back in forth in the minutes a few days ago. Please email me at scorpioness@ymail.com  I am interested in helping some with the diversity area.

Also I was posting here because I was wondering if you all are having any problem with mosquitos at night? (probably too dry for them too)

I hope it turned out to be a good night. We recorded the news and channel 11 evening news also said that PD was going to have you leave at dark, but then 10pm news looked like you were still in the park. Might want to let legal know (noticed on the news) that the sign that says when the park is closed ..says from dawn to dusk (not dusk to dawn) Which would actually mean the park is only open at night ..lol  (going to put this in two places because I don't know where you are most likely to see it)

hi Shannon. Please post in the diversity section (http://occupyhouston.org/forum…..diversity/) or also check out the upcoming meetings in the homepage sidebar. We are still struggling a bit to get scheduled meetings for every group, but keep checking back –again for now your best bet is to try the diversity forum and/or come out to connect with some diversity group members.

Yes, the mosquitoes goes quite bad for a few nights!

Something else to consider bringing if you're staying overnight:

Earplugs, especially if you're a light sleeper, since we are near the street.
